As part of 12th edition of Mediterranean Film Festival Split, a meeting was held on Friday, June 14, with Vera Matković from the Ministry of Culture and Chris Marcich, Director of Croatian Audiovisual centre, along with Alen Munitić, the president of Cinema network.

This year's Mediterranean Film Festival Split opened with premiere screening of Croatian short film Film "Dok je trajao Roland Garros" by Snježana Tribuson, followed by Italian feature film "Piranhas" awarded in Berlin, starting its regular distribution after the premiere in Split. Director Snježana Tribuson could not hide her excitement about the location where FMFS is held:

The Greek "Miracle of the Sargasso Sea" is an exciting thriller premiered during this year's Berlinale, and its regional premiere takes place at the Mediterranean Film Festival Split, Bačvice open air cinema (21:30 pm). The film will be presented by the main actress and screenwriter Youla Boudali . The film follows the lives of two women whose lives begin to twist after a sudden death that disturbs the local community. Today's "Ješka“ is "Bila Soba" by Mladen Stanić, who brings an everyday story about two brothers renovating an apartment in Split for the purpose of tourist rental.

12th edition of Mediterranean Film Festival Split starts next Thursday (June 13th), putting focus this year on local short film genre. The program "Ješke" does not only get the prime time schedule ahead of screenings of top-quality feature length movies, but also includes a competition in which 15 short movies are trying to win 12,000 kn, the biggest money prize introduced by a Croatian film festival for this genre.
