A former CTO assembles a team of software developers in the basement of an undisclosed location. They set out to build a digital advertising fraud operation and within 12 weeks, they managed to defraud a number of high-profile advertisers. As their operation unfolds, they interview some famous and lesser-known victims of ad fraud, shedding light on the role played by the technological giants Google and Facebook.
