Basel Adra is a Palestinian activist who films for decades the destruction of his community of Masafer Yatta by Israel‘s occupation. When he meets the Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham, they build an unlikely alliance that will result in their joint struggle. Their relationship, however, is constantly haunted by extreme inequality: while Basel lives under brutal military occupation, Yuval is free.
Documentary signed by the four-member Palestinian-Israeli collective was created from video material recorded during the darkest, most terrifying times in the region. It premiered in the Panorama programme of the Berlin Film Festival, where it was awarded the best documentary film by the jury and the audience.
