Sarajevo Film Festival was initiated in the year 1995, towards the end of the four-year siege of Sarajevo, with the aim of helping to reconstruct civil society and retain the cosmopolitan spirit of the city. Today, two decadeslater, Sarajevo Film Festival grew into a big and renowed international film festival, shining an international spotlight on films, talents and projects from the region. The focus of festival's competition and side programme is the region of South-East Europe, including the countries of Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine.
Sarajevo Film Festival will present a selection of short films from their last year's student film competition programme.
