Irene, her husband Jairo and nine-year-old son Jean live in an isolated Brazilian village near São Paulo, barely making ends meet out of their small charcoal production business. When they accept a proposal to host a mysterious foreign guest, for a large sum of money, their home becomes a hideout for a highly wanted drug lord. The family will have to learn how to share the same roof with a stranger whilst keeping up appearances of an unchanged peasant routine.
Drama with thriller elements by the Brazilian directress Carolina Markowicz premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
