Amal is a literature teacher in a suburban Brussels school, beloved by students for her enthusiasm and tireless promotion of tolerance and freedom of expression. When a conflict arises in one of the classes and a student is targeted by a group of radical schoolmates, Amal decides to help her. Amal soon also becomes a victim of a few hostile students, as well as some teachers.
Strong, tense and realistic drama is brought by the Moroccan director Jawad Rhalib while the title role is played by the great Lubna Azabal, known to the Festival audience for the film Life Suits Me Well (2022). The film premiered at the Talinn Black Nights Film Festival, where it was awarded for the best female role.
