All three cinemas of this year's 12th Mediterranean Film Festival Split were opened last night with all the screenings being sold out. An excellent audience response should not be missed today as there are several film festivals treats perfect for Saturday evening.
The central title was given to "Golden Youth", in which is starring the favourite actress of FMFS audience, the famous Isabelle Huppert. This film was directed by Eve Ionesco and it's premiere had at the Rotterdam Film Festival. At 21:30 this film will take its viewers to a shattered world of entertainment, fun and hedonistic way of life. It's preceded by a short film by our famous actor Leon Lučev. His "Malo se sjećam tog dana" premiered at Locarno Festival with Goran Bogdan and Nina Violić in leading roles.
The program in 'Zlatna Vrata' at 19:00 opens with "Bogomoljka" , 2nd short film by Mladen Stanić, in which the evening meeting between a successful woman and a young man turns into a seductive game of cats and mice. Followed by Turkish film "Press Release", a kind of commentary of Turkish political past and present, in which satire meets a subtle comedy.
At Youth Centre open air cinema, Croatian mid-sized films are shown free of charge every evening. Tonigh we are acreening: Tomislav Đurinec "Doma za Božić", "Kol'ko god nas noge nose" by Renata Lučić, and "IKEA for YU" signed by Marija Ratković Vidaković and Dinka Radonić.
As part of the 12th Mediterranean Film Festival, a meeting was held yesterday with the participation of Vjera Matković from the Ministry of Culture, along with Chris Navich, Director of HAVC, along with Alen Munitić , the president of Cinema Network. The purpose of the meeting was to harmonize the plans and strategies of the Ministry of Culture, the Cinema Network and HAVC, as well as to establish a working group that would help solve some of the problems and speed up their resolution.
