On June 16th, in open-air cinema Bačvice, the 15th Mediterranean Film Festival Split, will premiere the film Kick and Scream, by the director and actor Nina Violić.

- Excellent performances, amazing photography, and thoughtful directing, are the main highlights of Nina Violić’s film. We are proud Nina and her team have chosen FMFS for the world premiere of the film because it amazed us as soon as we have seen it. I am sure the audience will like it as well, and I am happy that it will continue its journey in Kino Mediteran cinemas, and all around Croatia as well – said Alen Munitić, FMFS director..

“The last moments of fun, tenderness, and absurdity before a family says farewell. While the parents deal with resentment and placing blame, their six-year-old son is building his world through play. Everyone has their own truth, whose will you believe?” says the synopsis of the film that follows three perspectives of a family, half an hour before a divorce. Starring Nina Violić, Goran Bogdan, Lee Delong, and nine-year-old Bruno Frketić Bajić. Photography by Vanja Černjul, and theme song that runs through the entire film is by TBF.

- I was curious as to how much could I build a story exclusively through the psychology of the characters, and how much can the story build through their differences. This theme is close to my heart because I have been through the trauma of divorce and guilt I felt for making a decision not only for me but for my daughter as well- says Nina Violić in her notes. She has spent ten years developing the film. Kick and Scream was produced by Spiritus Movens, Terminal 3, MP film production, Zagreb Film, Propeler Film, and Antitalent.

The 15th Mediterranean Film Festival Split will screen 72 films, from 30 countries, and it is opening up a new location, Gripe Fort, with already well known open-air cinema Bačvice, Youth Center and Golden Gate (Zlatna Vrata) cinema.
