The absolute winner of the national Goya awards, including those for the best film, director, screenplay, leading male and supporting male role - Rodrigo Sorogoyen's film “The Beasts” has its Croatian premiere tonight at the Bačvice Open-Air Cinema at the Mediterranean Film Festival Split.
The main role in the Spanish film of the year, which premiered in Cannes, is played by the French actor Denis Menochet, known for his roles in "Peter Von Kant" and "The Inglorious Basterds".
"The Beasts" will be preceded by "Zof", a new film by director Rino Barbir from Split, which is competing for the main FMFS prize in the amount of 2500 euros in the Ješke programme along with eight other Croatian short films.
Sunday at FMFS will be opened at 7 p.m. already by “Kristos, the Last Child”, an Italian-Greek documentary that brings an invaluable insight into the lifestyle of a small island community that takes care of thousands of goats and the uncertainty of the future of a boy eager to learn.
Fans of thrillers inspired by true events will be sated by the suspenseful drama “To the North” at Gripe Fortress at 9:30 p.m. The setting takes place on a cargo ship sailing the open sea.
