The audience in Split greeted last night Turkish film 'Butterflies' that had its premiere last night as a part of FMFS at open air cinema Bačvice. The director Tolga Karaçelik and leading actress Tugce Altug were thrilled to see that their film was sold out and said that 'thanks to the warm welcome in Split, they fell in love with their film all over again.'
At the same place, 21:30, a screening of a Croatian premiere of 'Reports on Sarah and Saleem' by director Muayad Alayan will take place. This exciting Palestinian film started its journey at Rotterdam where immediately won two awards. Love affair between a married Palestinian man Saleem and married Israeli woman Sarah is placed in Jerusalem where not only are they faced with the end of their marriages, but also the entire story gets a political dimension after they had been seen at the wrong place in the wrong time.
The film is preceded by 'Ješka', a short film 'Ultra' by director Igor Jelinović, placed in popular festival in Split.
The real movie treat starts at 19h at Cinematheque Zlatna Vrata. For the first time in Split, the audience has the opportunity to check 'A Fantastic Woman' by Sebastian Lelio, this year's Oscar winner for Best Foreign Film. The film will be introduced by 'Ješka', short film 'Manivald' by Chintis Lundgren, that has already won an award at FMFS for her debut short film.
