Director Tolga Karaçelik and leading actress Tugce Altug arrived in Split to present their charming hit film 'Butterflies' as the part of Mediterranean Film Festival Split, for the first time in Croatia. Outstanding performance and unique combination of both comedy and drama, brought this film the main award at Sundance and screening at Voice Rotterdam Film Festival. Karaçelik is the youngest director who has won a 'Golden Orange', prestigious award at Turkish Film Festival. Extraordinary for its style, there are high expectations for his future films as well.
Tonight's 'Ješka' is 'Into the Blue' by Antoaneta Alamat Kusijanović that recently in Cannes found out that her next project will be co-produced by famous Martin Scorsese. FMFS is joining the celebration of returning the famous public sculpture 'Plavo Stablo' (Blue Tree) by Vasko Lipovac to the streets of Split. Therefore there is a scheduled rerun of a short animated film 'Cyclists' in which Veljko Popović brought to life the characters of his favourite artist.
Second today's premiere is of a Mediterranean comedy 'Our Daily Water' by Vlatka Vorkapić, best known for her hit film 'Sonja and the Bull', screened at Cinematheque Zlatna Vrata at 19h.
The comedy is preceded by 'Ješka' 'Nice and Cosy' by Marko Višnjić and another mid-length film 'Where to?' by Lidija Špegar.
