The atypical gangster film "Enea", in which Italian director Pietro Castellitto skilfully combines tension with melancholy, is having its Croatian premiere tonight as part of the FMFS at the Bačvice Open-air Cinema.
In the film, which was shown for the first time at the festival in Venice, we follow a young man, Enea, who is almost thirty, has no job or life goals, and spends his days in hedonism and nights going out. When he receives an offer from a local mafia boss to sell twenty kilos of cocaine, he accepts it out of sheer desire for a new adventure.
The audience at Bačvice will be the first to see the short film "The Sea in Between", in which Lun Sevnik cast Leon Lučev and Bruno Mihanović for the main roles, and won the youth jury award at the Trieste Film Festival.
The cinema at Gripe Fortress will screen European film premiere. In the programme "The Other Side of the Mediterranean", in which FMFS focuses on the cinematography of South American countries, the film "Malu" is shown, taking us to the streets of Rio de Janeiro. A brilliant performance by Brazilian actress Yara de Novaes dominates this realistic and powerful family story based on the relationship between director Pedro Freira and his mother.
It will be preceded by "The Pack" by Marko Jukić, who participated with this film in the FMFS’s script and project development workshop, and which is shown out of competition in the "Ješke" programme.
