"The most beautiful new Croatian film for young people" are the compliments that film critic Marko Njegić used to mark the movie piece by Igor Jelinović from Split. 5th day of 9th Mediterranean Film Festival starts at movie theatre "Zlatna Vrata" with his film "Lule&Bručke" at 19h.
After this, follows the controversial "Ivy" by Turkish Tolgo Karacelik that is arriving in Split after Sundance although the film is censored in his country. It is a story that has won many awards all around the world and it has been noticed during many festivals, talking about six sailors that were trapped on a ship for 120 days.
The programme at Bačvice starts with a fan of Split audience, Nebojša Slijepčević and his film "Something about life", that after a story about a match maker from Imotski, follows juveniles with a behaviour disorder this time.
The dramma "La route d'Istanbul" is the central film of the day, talking about a popular problem regarding the increasing number of western people joining ISIL. Algerian- French film by Rachid Bouchareb follows the attempt of a Belgian mother who is trying to find her daughter that converted to Islam and is ready to join her "brothers and sisters" in jihad.
It is also worth reminding that there are free screenings of foreign short films at the summer terrace of movie theatre "Tesla" , the films that were a part of the most important world festivals. This Tuesday the programme offers Icelandic-Israelian and British- Turkish films, but also Croatian co-production. Use the rare possibility of enjoying in this movie theatre in the city centre, that has come "alive" after more than a decade because of FMFS.
