Spanish movie “Marshland” broke the record of summer movie theatre “Bacvice” last night and in the best possible way introduced the final weekend of 8th Mediterranean Film Festival. Festival Friday opens at 18h with a book promotion of “FILMoteka” by Marko Njegić placed in the patio of movie theatre “Zlatna Vrata” with film critic Jurica Pavičić and a historian Daniel Rafaelić as main speakers. This is an excellent opportunity to chat about first ten years of Njegić’s valid and extensive work during which he followed faithfully Mediterranean Film Festival.
Movie programme starts at 19h in “Zlatna Vrata” with a short animated film “Levitacija” by Marko Meštrović that was a part of the competition at festival in Oberhausen, the oldest short film festival in Europe. The next one is feature film “Heaven” by Mia Hansen- Love that follows the story of DJs during the famous period of French electronic scene and it was screened during festivals in Toronto, New York and London.
The penultimate evening at summer movie theatre “Bacvice” starts at 21:30 with a short film “Lako pokojnima” by Matea Šarić and a football night will be concluded with an omnibus “Short plays” directed by 32 directors from all over the world, among which are Gaspar Noe, Viktor Kosakovski, Apichatpong Weer Asethakul, Luca Lucini, Vincent Gallo... and Bobo Jelić presenting Croatia. Each story lasts from 1 to 5 min and with short dialogues presents the universal passion that football creates.
As a part of the free screenings, we are screening a documentary omnibus “Mostovi Sarajeva” at Art Gallery at 21:30 that was created by Jean Michael Frodon, famous French film critic, regarding 100 years since the World War I had started. Film will be screened in cooperation with Sarajevo Film Festival.
