The shortest night of the year, but also the evening before the national holiday, is an ideal day to spend at the cinema. Action spectacles are rarely shown at the Mediterranean Film Festival Split, but when such a film is on the programme, you can be sure that it is something that deserves attention.

The Egyptian film spectacle "Kira & El Gin" was filmed based on a true event, and it is the most expensive Egyptian film production of all time. It breaks viewership records not only at home, but also in all former British colonies, and it is interesting that part of the film was also shot in Croatia.

Today's Ješka film is "Her Dress for the Final", for which Martina Meštrović won a special award at the recently concluded Animafest.

Slovakian director Juraj Lehotsky opens the FMFS with "Plastic Symphony" on Wednesday at the Zlatna vrata Cinematheque at 7 p.m. He takes us into the world of classical music, and the main role is played by the Polish actor Bartosz Bielenia, known from the movie Corpus Christi, which had its Croatian premiere at this festival.

The audience favourite of the Rotterdam Film Festival was the debut film "Love According to Dalva", in which director Emmanuelle Nicot explored the consequences of domestic abuse in a moving and powerful way, showing the path to recovery filled with hope. This great movie is being shown tonight at Gripe Fortress at 9:30 p.m.

The Sarajevo Film Festival is hosting the free cinema on the plateau of the Youth Center tonight, with a selection of last year's competition programme of student films, which includes "It's Not Cold for Mosquitoes", a film written by Josip Lukić from Split together with Klara Šovagović.
