We started our workweek, but there is no end for movie treats at Mediterranean Film Festival Split. Monday starts with "Picnic" by Jure Pavlović that won European Oscar for the best short film in 2015. The young director will present in movie theatre "Zlatna Vrata" at 19h his story about a 15 year old boy Emir from Sarajevo that wants to visit his father who is serving his sentence in semi-open prison in Igman but he is late because of the traffic jam.
Afterwards follows "A peine j'ouvre les yeux" from Tunis that talks about their rebellious young people a couple of months before the Arab Spring and it also won an award in Venice.
One of the most expected films this year is "The Wait" with Juliette Binoche as the leading actress. The screening will take place in summer movie theatre "Bačvice" at 21:30. It is an exciting feature film by Piero Messina filmed in Sicily and it was awarded at the last Venice Film Festival.
Every evening from 21:30 there are free screenings of short films at summer terrace of movie theatre "Tesla". Tonight we screen "Ave Maria", a film with Oscar nomination, screened at more than 20 festivals and among the rest,"A man returned" that won a Silver Bear in Berlin.
