Visitors of Mediterranean Film Festival Split have today a unique opportunity to see 'Skins' at open air cinema Bacvice, taking into consideration that this Spanish feature film won't be distributed in cinemas outside its homeland. Only few festivals got the privilege to screen it, among them is FMFS, after it impressed the audience at Berlinale where it took part in a prestige program 'Panorama'.
Unsusual and controversial 'Skins' is a directorial debut of 25 year old director Eduardo Casanova, who stated that besides the beauty of film art, he is mostly intrigued by the aesthetics itself. This film demostrated that perfectly through the power(less) physical aspect. It is said that this film may not be one of your eternal favourites but it will not be so easily forgotten.
The night before national holiday will be opened by'Sea Foam' by Igor Jelinović, in which numerous group of Split actors took part, and the evening will be closed with DJ set by Mario Kovač.
The rest of the program this Wednesday is free of charge. In cinema 'Zlatna Vrata', 5 minute long animated 'Island' by Tea Tucak will be screened at 19h, competing in the category 'Jeske' for the prize of 10.000 kn. As a part of ongoing project 'Circus Wednesday' presented by collective ROOM 100, projection of 'Morning Star' by Sophie Blondy is organised, a film with only English subtitles follows a circus group confronting a serious lack of audience.
Seven film works will be screened free of charge at the terrace of cinema 'Tesla', the location that at least lives shortly again after all these years thanks to FMFS. The films are sent from International Short Film Festival from Limassol, Cyprus.
